All aboard the night train
With Stops in Knoxville, Williamsburg, Boonesborough, Lexington
Then there is the rest of Kentucky.
Smaller towns dot the Ohio River like heaps of trash
Circled by buzzards.
Gas Up Chile!!
Don't Stop keep driving less you get trapped here!
Don't act out, sarcasm lost on these closed minds.
A career can stagnant if left to fester here.
You will turn on yourself if you stay
Your mind will fry.
So pass your time playing it safe.
Working smart and not too hard.
Stay healthy, because you sure can't get sick here.
Wellness is not a priority here.
The day is coming soon when you will be honored to write always
And a request for a response is not an imposition.
Being an adult means producing when there is no expectation.
Outperforming even when you have to create the tools to build your path,
And all bets are for your failure.

No I am not a Catholic but a self described sipping saint, but I can appreciate the meditative and centering qualities of this prayer and purpose of the Stations of the Cross.
Pray this and Namaste:
“We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you. Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world."
Stations accepted by the American Congregation:
Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane;
Jesus is betrayed by Judasand arrested;
Jesus is condemned by the Sanhedrin;
Jesus is denied by Peter;
Jesus is judged by Pilate;
Jesus is scourgedand crowned with thorns;
Jesus takes up his cross;
Jesus is helped by Simon of Cyreneto carry his cross;
Jesus meets the women of Jerusalem;
Jesus is crucified;
Jesus promises his kingdom to the repentant thief;
Jesus entrusts Mary and John to each other;
Jesus dies on the cross; and
Jesus is laid in the tomb. https://www.biblestudytools.com/matthew/26.html

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a hard word stirs up anger.The tongue of the wise adorns knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.Prov 15:1-2,4.
Is That All You Have To Say? By #TNFro...The UnPoet
Lots of words spoken today without meaning or meaning to offend because the speaker was offended by some slight.
Is that all you have to say?
I am glad you were too drunk to remember how you raped and murdered that 10 month baby, but dude you don’t get a buy.
Is that all you have to say?
You accuse one of the heinous crime because he was from a different country Shiiiiit, were all from different country at one time.
Is that all you have to say?
To excuse your ignorance to excuse the hate every time you open your mouth and tried to speak on the subject you know nothing about because it's easier to be on the offensive instead of defending calm and rationality.
Is that all you have to say?
You are leader of a country and you make fun of another lawmaker when she receives death threats.
Nothing you can say will excuse what you're not a leader who can still speak and encourage young people on a international level. Still garner respect after 2 stents in our White House although he was not...white.
Nothing anyone can say will bring that brother back his life that was taken just because he dared to uplift his own neighborhood.
No I don’t expect you to say you were sorry because that doesn’t make it all better.
You are a sorry excuse for a human and waste of skin.
Wait, what did you say?
I thought not.

First Novel...Ever

The Tale of Genji (源氏物語 Genji monogatari) is a classic work of Japanese literature written by the noblewoman and lady-in-waiting Murasaki Shikibu in the early years of the 11th century.The work recounts the life of Hikaru Genji, or "Shining Genji", the son of an ancient Japanese emperor, known to readers as Emperor Kiritsubo, and a low-ranking concubine called Kiritsubo Consort. For political reasons, the emperor removes Genji from the line of succession, demoting him to a commoner by giving him the surname Minamoto, and he pursues a career as an imperial officer. The tale concentrates on Genji's romantic life and describes the customs of the aristocratic society of the time. It is sometimes called the world's first novel, the first modern novel, the first psychological novel or the first novel still to be considered a classic. #NCFroIsReading Rosa Guy’s Wade

Sunday Mar 10, 2019
I will be reading excerpts from Rosa Guy's Wade a short memoir of a young Black soldier's coming of age during World War II in France. He discovers his life is worth living after he murders a racist fellow soldier. (I Know Right?!?!)
I also will be giving a synopsis of the life and musical stylings of the late great Etta James who survived severe abuse at the hands of the men that were supposed to protect her and an industry that underestimated her talent and influence on every genre.
I will also play a little bit of Duke Ellington, the coolest cat in Swing Jazz...just because I can!

Today is International Women's Day and I choose to celebrate by reading amazing short stories from African American women writers from Jean Toomer, Ann Petry, circa 1958, with the only male, Jessie Fauset, circa 1919 to Terry McMillan circa 1991. I have enjoyed the sultry stylings of Lady Day aka Billie Holiday, tragic figure, talented songstress, amazing talent. She once said," I never hurt nobody but myself and that's nobody's business but my own."

In celebration of Mardi Gras and Women's History Month, I am reading Colleen J McElroy's Jesus and Fat Tuesday on Fat Tuesday.(Go Figure) A reviewer wrote, her works are often influenced by her journeys both physical and mental, drawing on the landscapes that she has seen. About this influence, she once told one of her students “you’ll probably always write from where you aren’t, you’ll write from elsewhere, and the past landscapes you’ve known will filter in somewhere down the road."

In celebration of Women's History Month, I will be taking readings from gifted female writers. This episode features Song of Songs and the meaning of love and to be loved ending with a reading from The World of Rosie Polk by Ann Allen Shockley written two thousand years later and still supports the notion, "I am beloved and my beloved is mine."
