Random Ish-I viewed and review YENTL by Barbara Streisand..my personal protest since the Golden Globes refuse to recognize women this year. Auntie Mame because it was on TCM last night--Auntie Mame is a 1958 American Technicolor comedy film based on the 1955 novel of the same name by Patrick Dennis and its theatrical adaptation by Jerome Lawrence and Robert Edwin Lee. This film version stars Rosalind Russell and was directed by Morton DaCosta. Also I don't understand how the African American Film Critics Association gave Best Picture to US by Jordan Peele and I completely agree with my friend Janelle's assessment, "
I get mad every time I see the trailer for it on On Demand😠
Dobblegangers should have killed them all in the first 15 mins and spared us the rest of the 1 hr 45 mins" Bahhahahahha.

 I plan on continuing to dissect The 2020 Democratic presidential candidates. Last night was  the fourth debate.Concerns about Elizabeth Warren as she gains in the polls. How the impeachment inquiry is going to affect them. What to do about this Biden paradox. And how the  Russians troll African Americans during the 2016 elections.
Side Eye and Cancellation Reboot 
This weeks side eye goes out to the continued general assault on our democracy. The ex cop Aaron Dean, Cuba Gooding Junior, Lebron James, and those three women and their Danby house fight club in NC.
Literature Roundup. What were all should be reading and highlights From the book club I plan on summarizing Self-portrait in Black and White-Unlearning Race by Thomas Chatterdon Williams as well as My take on The Institute by Stephen King(I announced the New Segment called Over 40 and Unapologetically Nerdy), plan to start reading Ida: A Sword Among Lions by Paula Giddings and why Ida B Wells doesn't get as much coverage as other early Civil Rights activist and why other Suffragists undermined her. I also have a short reading from Tanaheisi Coates The Water Dancer.

TNFro Presents TNFro's Medical Minute Biotech Investment, I'm not Ballin' and Breast MRI

In this week's segment we will discuss Updates and Alerts in Precision Medicine, Blockchain, and Biotechnology.
 
We will discuss Hype about Blockchain
I will also continue with my Best In Biotech Stocks. These are the stocks I wish I had bought.
         I started discussing this group of stocks as wins for the next rally, and they performed well as the market rebounded after the previous weeks of losses. I would have been over 150K richer if I had invested all of bonuses from the previous years.
Previous Week Discussion Update: 23 deaths, 1300 reported with Vape Associated Illness, Currently, the prevailing theory is that the lung ailments are being caused by ingredients present in cartridges containing THC, most (but not all) of which had been purchased off the black market. Last week, the CDC reported that 78% of the 514 cases it has analyzed thus far involved patients using products containing THC, while a separate study reported that 66% of patients had specifically used Dank Vapes, a black-market manufacturer of ambiguous origin that purports to contain 90% THC. 
October is Breast Health Awareness Month and this week my long read is all about Breast MRIs for cancer detection
Breast MRIs can be performed of one or both breasts. These studies always require the use of contrast, which is a dye that is administered through an intravenous injection. The cancers are well visualized because they “take up” the dye, therefore the cancer cells become more enhanced and visible for the radiologist to review.
The most common reasons physicians order a breast MRI include:
Screening for cancer in high risk patients who have a —
genetic predisposition
strong family history
history of breast carcinoma
history of Atypia demonstrated on biopsy
Resolve an indeterminate (unclear) mammogram finding or if you are high risk and negative MRI it shows what the mammogram doesn't...Yikes!
 
Define the extent of the carcinoma prior to therapy
Evaluate breast implant integrity
Decision Support with AI helpful in recommendation of when to get MRI
Triple negative breast cancer
The biology of breast tumors varies by race and ethnicity.
Triple negative breast cancers are more common among Black/African-American women than among women of other ethnicities [267,272-274].
Triple negative breast cancers are:
               Estrogen receptor-negative (ER-negative)  
              Progesterone receptor-negative (PR-negative)  
              HER2-negative .Triple negative tumors have a poorer prognosis
But then again there is hope. What's cool in Breast Cancer Treatment?     Veliparib (Still considered experimental, PARP inhibitor, can't fix DNA, therefore the cancer can't grow) in combination with chemotherapy significantly prolongs survival without disease progression in women with metastatic HER2-negative breast cancer with BRCA mutations, compared with women on chemotherapy alone, a Phase 3 trial shows.

TNFro Is Reading...The Rewrite of The Only Black Dude on the Mayflower, The Making Of Westward Fro The Guidebook and Other Selections

Here's a little story about a girl with a Fro 
Who drove 3500 miles with an RV in tow
Little did she know she would get caught in snow 
A late storm that is
In April…
On the Donner trail in the high sierras...
 
Well first thing you know the story could have ended right there.
But she persevered showed up in Oregon no worse for wear 
Oregon turned out NOT
The place she needed to be
So eight months later she packed up her truck and headed back East to Tennessee
 
Hills that is, 
BBQ, 
candied bacon, 
single malt whiskey...This is a story of a meandering trip across the United States, the start of the Adventures of #WestwardFro, and then my becoming #TNFro which is available on Wander on Vocal+ Media. Navigate there and let me know what you think.
I hope this demonstrates how much fun I have had creating this piece and the Podcast overall. This one was particularly long because I had so much to say in Black Excellence highlighting recently passed Diahann Carroll and National Cool.
I also had a particularly chatty time talking about Invites to the BBQ, and how Biden is losing cool points in his lack of coherent response. I talk about who I am giving the Side Eye with a comprehensive breakdown of the Ukraine Scandal and people in the people of rural America why Dems may not be able to win them over. 
I will highlight promising books and other works in Literature News and other Random -Ish.

Necro-Inflammation Inflammatory Cells Bum Rush liver cells, secrete cytokines and other chemicals to break down or liquify the cells en masse. The body replaces it with essentially a scar. But not before possible oncologic transformation then BOOM the BIG C!
 
 
 
And the Advancement of Treatment available with cure a reality. The current treatments have advanced further than old school Ribivarin and TNF inhibitors current which are pretty nonspecific and full of side effects. Now, there are specific Hepatitis C antivirals that are specific and have a narrow profile of side effects they stop the spread of the disease. And in cool but only partially understood mechanism of action drugs like Harvoni, may keep the virus from copying itself and prevent the errors in replications that contribute to viral resistance. Best chance of cure is using medications like Epclusa which is a combination therapy itself,Sofosbuvir-velpatasvir , with Ribivarin. I am wondering if we have an algorithm to predict response base on genetic markers and several other factors... Now  that's pretty baller!!
