I am obviously a amateur hobbyist podcast. I'm glad for the opportunity to create content but I can only improve. I will recap my first live session. I wanted to list my Goodreads List Additions:
- The Beautiful Ones by Prince
-Sold on Monday Mcmorris
-Summer of ‘69 Hildebrand
-Mrs Everything Weiner
-The Guest Book BY Blake
-The New Negro The Life of Alain
Locke by Stewart
-Ida the sword among Lions
I will also reiterated why I can be proud to be a cys-gendered African American woman.
I can be gender identity and culturally proud and critical to American shortcomings. But don't get it twisted I love people irrespective of what gender they identify or what their sexual orientation is. No race is superior and I am a patriot of America. America can and will improve because we are resilient, and as an tax paying American patriot I can go tell the government go and sit down somewhere.
I will read from Ida the Sword Among Lions and my ideas for Living Single Reboot, still waiting on the invite to the production meeting. I will finish with my speaking engagement at UF and plans to go to Daytona 500 2020.

Janelle: Shows there is no still no "Us"... top films are about horror? and a comedic "pimp"... the historical and social conscience film are middle/bottom...it's ok to be entertaining, but not educational.

Simple episode…I watched one of the series of films in Virginia with my niece and nephews, Star Wars -The Rise of Skywalker. It was ok, the ending was whacked.
I will continue my read and comment of A Christmas Carol by Dickens.
Seasonal Affective Disorder Is Treatable and please don’t suffer in silence. This is a joyous season and sometimes we have to make an concerted effort to find the joy. I find mine by reading writing and commenting on my favorite movies. Some need more help to get that focus. And it ok.

Happiness Is listening to amazing music, preparing to see the latest Star Wars Movie, feeling blessed because I am here…
I am still adding to Black Excellence in Christmas Music.
Add suggestions to the playlist in the comments, be careful you won’t be able to resist bopping’!
https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/black-excellence-in-christmas-music/pl.u-Ymb00vgT6yKzj
Did you know Marvin Gaye released music?
All I want for Christmas Is you is streaming #1 25 years later…Listen and stream Whitney Houston’s Deck The Halls/Silent Night Mash up from her One Wish-The Holiday Album from 2003 her voice…amazing! Let’s see if we can stream her to the top 25 for the season!
https://music.apple.com/us/album/deck-the-halls-silent-night/255944953?i=255945134
Part of another tradition I decided to watch her in the Preacher’s Wife, a role she turned down for 1 full year with Denzel Washington asking!! She infamously admitted in 2009 to Oprah because she didn’t feel she would be comfortable dressing as a middle class housewife and couldn’t relate to being in love with a “good boy”. But finally she drew on her character, Julia, love for her family and church.
The Preacher's Wife
By her own admission her drug usage was out of control at this time. I just have the feeling she never felt worthy and maybe she understood the hypocrisy of her own family. And if Robin Crawford’s Memoir a Song for You was any indication, this emulated her real life and the part hidden and maybe she didn't want to deal. I wish someone like Dudley could have told her how worthy she was. I didn’t know Loretta Devine was in this movie?!? Lionel Ritchie was the music director of the church choir….Gregory Hines Scrooge like penny pinching Scrooge character perfect dichotomy between the reverend and business reality.
Kind of apropos that I am reading A Christmas Carol…
Seasonal Affective Disorder Is Treatable
Today, is such a bright and sunny day sit next to the window if still too cold listen to uplifting music, and watch your favorite movie or search for a new favorite…So much of the movie was prophetic for the life and tragic death of Whitney Houston. I can only wonder if she had truly sought help for her low self esteem and drug addiction how much further she could have gone.

In this episode I continue to celebrate the holiday season and writing and reading about everything Prince.
Words to describe him, “tireless, driven, obsessed, manic.” seem well trite and inadequate.
His longtime Road Manager said it best in his tribute to Prince published right after his death,
“But nobody was like Prince. Yes, the young Prince once practiced and dedicated himself to developing a skill set, but once his foundation was intact, the music, the ideas — both creative and promotional — flowed out of him like a raging river. There was no industry that was equipped to process and digest his ceaseless flow. Radio couldn’t keep up, record companies couldn’t market and promote fast enough, fans couldn’t re-focus fast enough. His songs were like a daily newspaper and he wanted them to be read while the news was fresh.“ For the full tribute navigate to https://link.medium.com/Kpx3UVDUr2

Dreams, Spirituality, Holiday Season
His conversion to Jehovah Witness in 2001 was just so Prince. And couldn’t Michael Jackson make it work. I think he would embrace the love of the season but not the commercialization.
The day he died a rainbow appeared over Paisley Park with lots of purple.
Although he moved from this limited life in that Paisley Park elevator, let’s take his advice, let’s not let that elevator bring us down…Let’s GO CRAZY celebrating life, love, and the joy of this season!
Affirmation of the Season

My Name Is TNFro And I Ain't Funky...Celebrating his Royal Purpleness Prince
Saturday Dec 14, 2019
Saturday Dec 14, 2019
The concept for this episode spawned from my receiving Prince's book, The Beautiful Ones. Unlike the reviewer for the New York Times this book is not trite and can't be read in 20 minutes. It is in his words his perception of life and his feelings about his own music. There were so many iterations of this artist and he was yet re-inventing himself again at the tragic end of his life. The book is autobiographical but still adds to the mystique that was the enigma we all knew as the artist Prince. So much music to listen to and so much more to learn about this artist can't cover it all in 1 podcast.
I created a playlist on iTunes, please leave comments on any Prince additions.
https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/all-hail-his-royal-purpleness/pl.u-PDb44z6Cj63ZN
And also created a collaborative list on Spotify as well. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4qI9ojyL3Ad3Kz0dkF0wMB
This is the first in the series focusing on his Royal Purpleness and I focus on reading excerpts from the book and marrying it with snippets from his iconic work. I had way too much fun organizing and creating this episode!
