Celebrating Black Excellence
Hanelle Culpepper,
vetaran director with credits as the first black woman to direct the pilot and several first episodes of Picard, but also she had previous experience in the Star Trek Series Discovery.
But she also has directing credits in Counterpart, Supergirl, The Flash, and Gotham.
Picard Episode 4 Introduced Me to my new play-play boyfriend Elnor
the swashbuckling Romulan Orphan and the super duper Romulan. In episode four, 'Absolute Candor', we met its newest member: the sword-wielding Elnor, a Romulan raised on the planet Vashti by the Qowat Milat, a group of warrior nuns. In a rash moment towards the end of the episode, Elnor beheads a man with the intention of saving Picard, a brutal outcome that JL isn't happy with. Nonetheless, it results in Elnor departing the planet with Picard, ready to follow him on the rest of his journey. And our favorite ex-Borg 7 of 9 is back and is kicking ass...

I was completely floored when I watched the ending to a fabulous episode 1 of Star Trek Picard. It forced me to go online and research and develop a timeline of events that lead to the intersection of the Borg and the Romulans and share with other Trekkies.
Knowing the backstory of how all of these civilizations; Iconians, Romulans, Borg, Dominion, intersected and how Picard played a major role in the conflicts and eventual resolution was important for me to understand the particular story line in the new Star Trek Picard Series. I also wanted to consider alternative story lines to explore as I progress in playing STO and developing fan fiction for the Star Trek Wiki that is over 54000 pages and growing.
The second episode of Picard will probably drop in the morning and I will be watching and posting on my breaks tomorrow! I hope you guys will enjoy it as much as I will enjoy commenting on it!
